The Renaissance Story
Renaissance was founded in Roanoke, Virginia to solve a persistent gap in the hospitality and commercial design industry: the ability to reliably manufacture custom lighting and metal furnishings at commercial scale, in the United States, and on demanding project timelines.
Today, we continue to operate with the same philosophy. Our in-house CAD team works directly alongside engineering, fabrication, finishing, and assembly, allowing design intent to move quickly from concept to production without losing precision along the way.
From program-based product lines to fully custom pieces, every item is built with the same level of attention to detail, consistency, and material discipline. Whether it is a single fixture or a large-scale rollout across a national brand, the goal remains the same: to ensure the final product performs exactly as intended in the built environment.

2003
Founded
Renaissance is founded with a vision for American-made custom manufacturing.
2007 — 2010
Major hospitality programs
Secured first major hospitality programs with Marriott and Darden, establishing Renaissance as a trusted partner for national hotel brands.
2014
Expansion
Expanded into a 75,000 square foot production facility in Roanoke, Virginia — bringing fabrication, finishing, and assembly under one roof.
2015 — 2020
Integrated capabilities
Integrated in-house shade production, fiber laser cutting, and the preferred vendor program — deepening vertical integration across the catalog.

By keeping production domestic, we maintain a high level of control across every stage of fabrication — from initial detailing through final finishing. It allows us to work more closely with our clients and partners, ensuring that design intent is carried through with accuracy and care.
Our in-house and partner fabrication capabilities support a wide range of materials and processes, giving us the flexibility to produce both standard collections and highly customized pieces. This approach reduces delays, improves communication throughout production, and allows for a more responsive, collaborative workflow.
Quality is reinforced through proximity. By producing within the United States, we are able to oversee production more directly, refine details in real time, and uphold the standards expected in hospitality and commercial environments.

Responsible Manufacturing
Domestic production also means a more deliberate relationship with the materials we use.
Recycled Materials
Our metal components are fabricated using recycled steel sources whenever possible. Production scrap is collected and returned for reprocessing, supporting a more circular approach to material use.
Durable Finishes
We use powder coating across many of our lighting and furniture collections for its durability, clean application process, and long-term performance. This solvent-free method creates resilient finishes with minimal emissions.
Surface Preparation
Shot blasting is used to properly prepare metal surfaces for decorative finishes, improving adhesion and extending product longevity.
Packaging & Material Reuse
Products are packaged using recycled corrugated materials and clean newsprint whenever possible to reduce unnecessary waste during shipping. Shipping pallets are reconditioned and reused to extend material life cycles.
